Franky Barrera
I’m a Materials Scientist with both an academic and practical background in researching the technoeconomic feasibility for sustainable energy projects. My work up to now has been on the development of experimentally-informed process-based cost models for projects ranging from my academic focuses on novel energy materials, including perovskite solar cells and solid-state batteries, to more industry-facing ventures around CO2 reclamation for battery materials and thin-films for wearable cooling fabrics. In joining MineralX, I aim to delve into the higher-level questions of the sustainable energy economy, applying decision making algorithms informed by machine-learning to the space of raw material acquisition for lithium and graphite resource exploration and mining.
