
David Strang
David Strang is a mining executive and member of the Mineral-X Advisory Council at Stanford University. With over three decades of leadership in mineral exploration and development, he brings extensive expertise in project evaluation, strategic growth, and corporate transactions to support Mineral-X’s mission of advancing innovation in the discovery and development of critical minerals for the energy transition.
David co-founded Ero Copper in 2016 and currently serves as Executive Chairman, after leading the company as CEO through a period of significant growth and operational success. His previous leadership roles include President and CEO of Lumina Copper (acquired by First Quantum), Lumina Royalty (Franco-Nevada), and Global Copper (Teck Resources), among others. Throughout his career, David has been involved in multiple successful acquisitions and developments across the Americas.
As a Stanford alumnus with a B.S. in Applied Earth Sciences, David contributes a valuable industry perspective to Mineral-X’s interdisciplinary efforts to build a more sustainable future through data-driven mineral exploration.
